A trade union representing workers in Shannon Group says it's disappointed that management are seeking voluntary redundancies there.

A first meeting between management and workers' representatives took place yesterday, at which unions were officially informed of plans to reduce the Shannon Group workforce on a voluntary basis.
Reports have said that 40 redundancies will be sought, but SIPTU says no number was given during the discussions.
