An uninsured learner driver has tested positive for driving under the influence of cannabis during a roadside check in east Clare.
Gardaí on patrol near Killaloe this morning pulled over a Volkswagen Golf MK5 in O’Brien’s bridge.

Upon inspection, the driver was found to be uninsured and driving on a learner permit, while a roadside drugs test came back positive for the presence of cannabis.
Subsequently the driver has been arrested and the vehicle has been seized.
