The relief efforts come as part of a truce during talks between the government and opposition in Geneva.

The British Foreign Secretary William Hague says the city could become the next Srebrenica – where 8,000 men and boys were killed during the Bosnian war.

UNICEF Ireland's Executive Director Peter Power says his teams have been disturbed by what they've seen in Homs.
