A Clare Government TD says the latest unemployment figures for the Mid-West show economic recovery is starting to take hold here.
New figures from the CSO show that over 4,000 jobs have come on stream in Clare, Limerick and North Tipperary in the past year with 152,300 people now employed in the Mid-West.
But Clarecastle TD Joe Carey believes some families are continuing to feel the weight of the recession and says there is an opportunity in the upcoming budget to introduce measures to stimulate struggling industries.
Fine Gael Deputy Carey says more work needs to be done.
