UMHL Counsellor Says Miscarriage Grief Still ‘Underacknowledged’

A bereavement counsellor at the region’s main maternity hospital says there’s still a long way to go in fully acknowledging the grief of miscarriages in Ireland.

Ireland has an infant mortality rate of around 3 per 1,000 according to the CSO.

The issue has been put under the spotlight after Meghan Markle revealed she had a miscarriage in an opinion piece for the New York Times this week.
