The University of Limerick has turned to nearby landlords in a bid to tackle what it calls the "unprecedented demand" for accomodation there.

Thousands of on- and off-campus rooms are already taken for the upcoming academic year, even before the CAO offers are sent to new entrants.
The University's Students' Union says some are commuting by bus from areas including Miltown Malbay, which is nearly 50 miles away.
UL has now put a call out for 'digs', or rental rooms in the homes of nearby families.
Those interested in taking part in the scheme are asked to register with UL's accomodation office.
