UL Politics Professor Says Protocol Deal Will Pass In UK But DUP Support Still Uncertain

A Professor of Politics at the region’s largest university says UK MP’s will vote in favour of the Windsor Framework, but that it’s still too soon to call whether the DUP will support it.

The deal on the Northern Ireland protocol was struck yesterday afternoon by British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and EU Commission President Ursula von der Lyen.

The Windsor Framework sees London gain the power to govern VAT and excise rules in Northern Ireland while introducing green and red lanes for goods entering the North.
