Nursing staff at Ennis General and other hospitals in the MidWest will be balloted for industrial action from today.

Approximately 1,000 people will take part in the vote, which has been called in response to HSE measures that have been enacted in a bid to cut overcrowding at University Hospital Limerick.
A result is expected next week, and if nurses and midwives do vote yes the INMO says they will begin a work to rule, with an all-out strike unlikely at this stage.
