A Ukrainian woman living in West Clare with her family is thanking a local business and the community for providing her with work and a safe home.
Following the invasion of Ukraine by Russia just over 8 months ago, the Armada Hotel in Spanish Point decided to play its part in showing support for displaced refugees.
The business was beginning the process of renovating a three-story building in Miltown Malbay and took the decision to convert the bottom floor, which was originally planned to be a storage space, into an apartment for a Ukrainian family.
Mother of two Tonya Dudka, whose husband Igor is in the military in Ukraine, moved into Freedom Square in Miltown Malbay with her children and her mother in recent weeks.
Tonya worked as a school teacher in her home country is now working at the Armada Hotel and she’s told Clare FM’s Morning Focus that she’s grateful for the kindness shown to her by the people of west Clare.
