Ukrainian Pupil Starting School In Kilkee Hails ‘Amazing’ Clare Welcome

A 15-year-old Ukrainian boy who is starting school in Kilkee today is hailing what he’s describing as an ‘amazing’ welcome he’s received since arriving in Clare.

More than 1,500 Ukrainian refugees are now in this county, with the majority being accommodated in North and West Clare.

Yaroslav Shcherbyn travelled from Dnipro in Eastern Ukraine to Kilkee with his mother and brother ten days ago, with his father remaining in the war-torn state.
