Ukrainian Arrivals Now Make Up 12.5% Of North Clare Population

The Ennistymon Electoral Area is still hosting the highest proportion of Ukrainian Refugees in the country.

New figures released by the Central Statistics office show that the number of arrivals to this county from the war-torn state has increased by 10% in the last three months.

There are now 400 Ukrainian refugees living in the Killaloe Electoral area, 2252 in North Clare, 1,176 in Ennis, 1,084 in Shannon, and 676 in West Clare, bringing the county’s total to 5,519.

This means Clare is now hosting the sixth-highest total of Ukrainian refugees nationwide, while there are also 613 Ukrainian students enrolled in primary schools here in addition to 336 in secondary schools.

12.5% of Ennistymon’s population is now comprised of arrivals from Ukraine, which is the highest rate in the country.
