Uisce Éireann is warning that some West Clare homes could experience temporary water outages resulting from works due to get underway this week.

The utility is set to commence work in the coming days to replace over 1km of old water mains in Alva, Creegh along the R483 from the T-junction at Kilmacduane West to the Old Parochial House Cottages.

The project will span until early December and is being carried out under the National Leakage Reduction Programme which aims to reduce the national leakage rate to 25% before 2030.
