Uisce Éireann Asked To Show “Common Courtesy” Following Damning East Clare Inspection

Uisce Éireann is being asked to show “common courtesy” to the people of East Clare following a recent damning inspection of a local wastewater treatment facility.

A recent Environmental Protection Agency audit of the O’Briensbridge Water Treatment Facility found that residents were consuming inadequately disinfected water for 12 months before a ‘boil water notice’ was put in place due to deficiencies in the operation of the plant.

In response to a request from Killaloe Councillor Tony O’Brien for Clare County Council to arrange a meeting between the water utility and local representatives, the local authority has said that all queries should be directed to Uisce Éireann.
