UHL Overcrowding Figures Continue To Rise

The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is on the rise again this week.

52 people were left waiting for beds at Universtiy Hospital Limerick this morning, according to the INMO, 28 of those in the emergency department.

It’s the highest number of any hospital in the country and is 22 more than the next busiest facility.

Trolley numbers reached a record high last week before dipping again and it’s hoped that the opening of a 17-bed facility in the old ED at the end of the month will help improve the current crisis.
