UHL Has Highest Number of Long ED Waits For People Aged Over 75

University Hospital Limerick had the highest number of people aged 75 and over who have waited at least 24 hours in an Emergency Department this year.

The HSE’s own service plan set a target that no patient aged 75 and over would wait 24 hours for admission, but in the first three months of the year nearly 15,000 such patients did just that.

That’s higher than the number for all of 2017.
