UHL Almost Twice As Busy As Any Other Facility After Bank Holiday Weekend

Nurses say the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is almost twice that of the next busiest facility in the wake of the bank holiday weekend.

The latest analysis from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation shows there were 104 patients waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick during morning rounds.

40 of those were on trolleys in the Emergency Department, with a further 64 accommodated in overflow areas of wards.
