Two men have been rescued after their yaught ran aground off the coast of North Clare.
The Galway RNLI lifeboat was launched shortly after 5 o'clock yesterday evening after the thirty foot vessel hit rocks near Ballyvaughan Bay.
The two men were heading from Ballyvaughan to New Quay, when their 30 foot yacht hit rocks near the entrance to Ballyvaughan Bay at around 5 o'clock yesterday evening.
They contacted the Irish Coastguard which dispatched the Galway Lifeboat at around 5.15pm.
A local fishing boat helped establish a tow and remained with the men until the Lifeboat arrived.
Crew managed to move the boat safely off the rocks and the two men were able to sail it to Galway Docks where the damaged vessel was assessed.
In a statement to Clare FM, Barry Heskin, Lifeboat Deputy Launch Authority, says "the men reacted diligently by calling the Coastguard as soon as possible, as the tide was on the ebb".
