Two People Injured By Dog When Out Swimming In East Clare

Two people were injured when approached by a dog while swimming in East Clare.

It’s understood that while the men were in the water, a black Labrador which had been let off its lead, swam out to the pair, puncturing their buoyancy aid before proceeding to scratch both swimmers.

The men suffered injuries to their faces, arms and backs during the altercation, which are not believed to be serious.

Clare County Dog Warden, Frankie Coote says given their vulnerability in the water, both men were lucky to escape with minor wounds.
