Two people are recovering in hospital following separate road traffic collisions in Ennis last night.
Both incidents involved pedestrians being struck by vehicles and occurred just hours after a woman and child were struck by a car on Francis Street in the town.
That incident occurred at around 2:15pm and resulted in the woman and child being hospitalised.
At around 7:45 last night a woman was struck by a vehicle close to the Maid of Erin roundabout in Ennis.
She was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick (UHL) for treatment. Her injuries are not believed to be serious.
A short time later, emergency services were alerted to another road traffic incident involving a pedestrian on the Limerick Road close to the West County Hotel.
It’s understood that a man was struck by a vehicle at traffic lights. He was assessed and treated at the scene before being transported to UHL for further treatment.
It’s believed he suffered a head injury which is not thought to be life-threatening.
