Two men will appear in Ennis District Court this morning charged in connection with a serious assault in Kilrush.
The alleged incident occured at about 4 o'clock yesterday morning and has left a man in his forties with head injuries in University Hospital Limierick.

The two men are to be charged with assault causing harm under section 3 of the criminal Justice act and were both arrested at the scene on Pella road and are said to be in their 20s.
The injured man is said to be recovering in hospital having suffered serious but non life threatening wounds.
