Two people have been killed in separate road accidents.
A woman in her 70's has died in County Leitrim – while a crash in Donegal has claimed the life of a 25 year old woman.
In Leitrim a 74 year old female pedestrian was killed in Drumshanbo following a collision with a car at a quarter past 7 last night.
She was pronounced dead at the scene and her body has been taken to Sligo University Hospital – the 50 year old female driver of the car was uninjured.
Meanwhile in Donegal – a 25 year old woman has died following a two car collision at Fahan (PRON: FAWN) just before 11 o'clock last night.
The driver of the second car – a man in his 20's – was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
The road is closed for investigations and diversions are in place.
Gardaí in Donegal and Leitrim are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
