Garda forensic collision investigators are continuing to examine the scene of a fatal road collision in county Donegal in the early hours of this morning which claimed the lives of two young men.
The incident happened on the Rathmullan to Portsalon road at around 3.10am.
Two men were pronounced dead at the scene while, two other men have also been seriously injured.
It’s understood all four men are thought to be in their late teens or early 20’s.
Excess traffic is expected on main routes across Clare this Bank Holiday as thousands head for the county’s coastal spots.
Gardai are warning all road users to be mindful of the changing weather conditions and the impact it can have on road surfaces.
They are also reminding people that there will be checkpoints in place and if they are planning a heavy night- leave the car at home.
Sergeant Joe Downey of Ennis Garda Station is urging people to heed their speed and be aware of slippery or flooded roads.
