Two motorcyclists have died in separate collisions which happened just minutes apart in Limerick City.
A third motorcyclist has also died in a crash in Dublin.
The first incident occurred at around 7.30 yesterday evening in Mungret, when a man in his 50s travelling on a motorcycle struck a roundabout at Quinn’s Cross.
Emergency services were called to the scene and the man was treated by paramedics before being transferred to University Hospital Limerick.
He was pronounced dead a short time later.
The road remains closed as Gardaí carry out a forensic examination.
Just ten minutes later, at 7.40pm, a man in his 20s was travelling on his motorcycle in Southill when it left the road at O’Malley Park.
He sustained serious injuries and was transferred to University Hospital Limerick where he was pronounced dead.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone who witnesses either incident to contact them.
Elsewhere, a third motorcyclist lost his life in a single vehicle collision in Dublin City in the early hours of this morning – while his passenger was seriously injured.
