Fianna Fáil have added two candidates to their tickets for the upcoming local elections here.

In West Clare, Kilkee tourism consultant Cillian Murphy becomes the party’s third candidate, alongside Councillors Bill Chambers and PJ Kelly.

26-year-old Mark Nestor will run in Ennis – he’d sought a nomination at the party’s selection convention.

He’ll run alongside Councillors Clare Colleran Molloy and Pat Daly.

It’s expected that more candidates will be added by the party in the days to come, including in North Clare.

In recent days, Independent candidates Dermot Hayes and Amanda Major have announced their plans to run in Ennis, while Fine Gael have selected retired Garda Eugene Long to run in the Shannon Electoral Area.
