Tusk Commits To Working Against Hard Irish Border In Brexit Talks

Donald Tusk says avoiding a hard border between the Republic of Ireland and the UK will be prioritised in BREXIT negotiations.

European leaders could sign off on plans to allow Northern Ireland immediately rejoin the EU in a United Ireland at their summit this weekend.

The President of the European Council has written to member states saying before discussing our future, we must first sort out our past.

In a letter sent ahead of tomorrow’s meeting Mr Tusk says a hard border needs to be avoided in order to protect the peace and reconciliation process described by the Good Friday Agreement.
