‘Very Trying Summer’ Ahead For Clare Pubs On Account Of Staff Shortages

The Clare Chair of the VFI says ‘a very trying summer’ lies ahead for pubs in this county due to ongoing staff shortages.

Publicans say they’re having to reduce opening hours, with some choosing to close several days a week as a result of not having sufficient workers available.

It’s estimated about a third of staff in the sector have departed the industry since the onset of the pandemic.
