Management at the former Doonbeg Golf Club, now Trump International Hotel and Golf Links, Ireland, say they're confident the facility will be restored and be operational by summer.

That's despite the emergence a letter from legal representatives of the Trumps, which stated that the site was in a state of emergency because of coastal erosion.

Trump has been engaged in a dispute with Clare County Council, after the local authority issued a planning enforcement order to prevent unauthorised works.

The Council stopped an unauthorised move to use of rock armour to strengthen coastal defences, and while the dispute has been resolved, Trump has threatened the local authority with legal action if the works are delayed, resulting in a loss of income.
