The US president is promising state officials in Texas dealing with flooding will have all the help they need in rescue and recovery efforts.
The weather following Hurricane Harvey’s forced thousands from their homes with warnings the worst isn’t over and that the state of Louisiana could be next.

Meanwhile, an Ennis-born woman has spoken of how she looks set to lose her home in flooding in Houston.
Emma Newell, who grew up in the UK after she was born in Clare, has lived in Houston since 2014.
She’s currently on a planned holiday with her family, but has been watching on from a distance as the waters rise and look set to enter her home in the city’s Energy Corridor.
