Donald Trump has been invited to hold talks with Russia aimed at ending the violence in Syria.
Moscow's foreign minister Sergey Lavrov want to speak with the US president-elect in Kazakhstan after he's sworn in.
Mr Lavrov also says he believes Russia will be able to work more effectively with Mr Trump's administration than with Barack Obama's.
