Trolley numbers are edging closer to 100 once again at the region’s main hospital, as the week begins.
The latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show there were 47 admitted patients waiting for beds in the Emergency Department at University Hospital Limerick this morning.

A further 52 patients were on trolleys in overflow areas of wards.
The overall figure of 99 is more than all ten hospitals in the East of the country combined and represents almost a fifth of the country total.
