Nurses say the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is continuing to spiral.
The latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show there were 115 admitted patients on trolleys during morning rounds, up ten on the same time yesterday.

49 of those were in the Emergency Deparment, with the remaining 66 accommodated in overflow areas of wards.
The overall figure is almost two and a half times the next busiest facility; Galway University Hospital, where 48 admitted patients were waiting for beds today.
