Trolley Numbers Soar At University Hospital Limerick

The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital has soared in the wake of the weekend.

The latest INMO figures show there were 95 admitted patients waiting for beds during morning rounds, 37 of those in the Emergency Department.

The overall figure is more than two and a half times higher than the next busiest facility; Letterkenny University Hospital, where 37 patients were on trolleys.

Overall, there were 396 patients waiting for beds at hospitals across the country today.
