Trolley Numbers On The Rise At UHL

Nurses say the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is on the rise once again.

The latest figures from the INMO show 56 people were left waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 28 of those in the emergency department.

It’s the busiest facility in the country, followed closely by University Hospital Galway, where 50 people are waiting to be admitted.

It comes on a day when 458 patients have been left on trolleys at hospitals across the country, an 11% decrease on this day last year.
