Trolley Numbers On The Rise Again As UHL Records Highest Number Of Covid Patients In The Country

The region’s main hospital has recorded the highest number of Covid patients in the country once again.

The HSE’s latest report shows 68 patients tested positive for the virus at University Hospital Limerick last night, representing a rise of 6 over the weekend.

They’re among 885 in hospitals across the country, which is an increase of 59 since yesterday.

It comes as Taoiseach Micheál Martin has said the roll out of a fourth round of Covid vaccines would take place in the autumn.

GP, Dr Illona Duffy says the vaccines will be constantly changing quicker as the virus mutates.

 

Trolley numbers have jumped by 30% over the weekend, meanwhile, with 73 patients waiting for beds this morning, according to the INMO.
