Figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show 47 people were waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 26 of those in the Emergency Department.

Its the highest number of any hospital in the country for the second day running.

There's a similar picture at a number of other hospitals around the country – 44 people are waiting on trolleys at both Tallaght and Beaumont Hospitals.
