Trolley numbers at the region’s main hospital are continuing to rise.
The latest analysis from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show there were 118 patients waiting for a bed at University Hospital Limerick during morning rounds, 52 of those on trolleys or chairs in the Emergency Department.

The overall figure is 20 more than the next busiest facility; Cork University Hospital, which is also experiencing record overcrowding today.
