Trolley Numbers Climb To 80 At Region’s Main Hospital

The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is continuing to climb.

Nurses union, the INMO’s daily trolley watch analysis shows there were 80 people waiting for beds during morning rounds at University Hospital Limerick.

28 of those were on trolleys in the Emergency Department, with the remaining 52 being accommodated in overflow areas of wards.

Overall there were 557 admitted patients waiting for beds at hospitals across the country today.
