Trolley Numbers Beginning To Spiral At UHL Once Again

The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is beginning to spiral once again.

The latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation shows there were 96 admitted patients waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 39 of those on trolleys or chairs in the Emergency Department.

The overall figure is 38 more than the next busiest facility; Sligo University Hospital.

It’s the first time since the opening of the new 96-bed block at the Dooradoyle facility that trolley numbers have climbed close to 100.
