Nurses say University Hospital Limerick is busier then the next three busiest hospitals in the country combined today.
The latest analysis from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show there were 124 admitted patients waiting for beds at the Dooradoyle facility this morning, with 52 of those on trolleys or chairs in the Emergency Department.

The overall figure is almost double the number at all ten hospitals serving the east of the country today and is more than double the next busiest facility; Galway University Hospital, where 48 patients were waiting for beds.
The numbers on trolleys at UHL represent just shy of a third of all those on trolleys at the country’s 32 hospitals, according to the INMO figures.
