Nurses say the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is continuing to climb.
The latest figures from the INMO show there were 106 admitted patients waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick during morning rounds, 53 of those on trolleys or chairs in the Emergency Department.

The overall figure is more than three dozen more than the next busiest hospital; Cork University Hospital, where there were 69 patients on trolleys this morning.
Overall, 593 admitted patients were waiting for beds at the country’s hospitals.
