Trolley Count Falls At UHL As Covid Testing And Tracing Continues There

There’s been a fall in overcrowding at the region’s main hospital today.

It comes as University Hospital Limerick continues testing and tracing on staff and patients in Dooradoyle, following a COVID-19 outbreak in an unnamed medical ward there on Monday.

There are 42 patients waiting for a bed at the hospital as of this morning according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation – 35 of these are in the emergency department.

It comes on a day when nurses say there are 193 patients waiting to be admitted at hospitals across the country.
