EU Finance Ministers have agreed to ask the Troika to come forward with a proposal for their best possible option for Ireland when it comes to extending the length of the maturities on the European part of our bailout.
A meeting of all 27 Finance Ministers has taken place in Brussels – chaired by the Finance Minister Michael Noonan.
Yesterday, agreement on extending the maturities of EU loans was reached in principle with Eurogroup Ministers – and today, all 27 EU Finance Ministers were asked if they would be ready to do the same thing.
The Taoiseach and Finance Minister have both said that it may be next month before any formal agreement is reached but Enda Kenny says he is hopeful a full deal can be reached:
