The National Council for the Blind in Ireland is offering its sympathies to the family of Kilrush native Patricia Brennan.
57 year old Patricia is originally from Cappa village but had been living in Dublin for some time when the incident occurred yesterday.
Ms Brennan who was blind was waiting on the platform at Raheny DART station yesterday afternoon when she tripped and fell onto the track as a fast-moving train was approaching.
The NCBI has paid tribute to Patricia and says she was a very active and independent woman.
