Tributes to former IFA Head

The President of the IFA and prominent members of Clare Fianna Fail are leading the tributes to former MEP and Parteen native Paddy Lane, who has passed away at the age of 77.

Paddy Lane served as a Fianna Fail MEP from 1989 to 1994.  Previously, he was President of the Irish Farmers’ Association from 1976-1980, the only Clare man to hold the role.

The ex-Army officer was also capped by the Irish rugby team, and is pre-deceased by his wife Carmel, and survived by his children Tommy, David and Liz.
