The British Labour MP died yesterday after being shot and stabbed outside her constituency advice surgery in Birstall, West Yorkshire.
Mrs Cox's husband Brendan said she would want people "to unite to fight against the hatred that killed her."
A 52-year-old man – named locally as Tommy Mair – was arrested and remains in custody.
Leader of the Labour Party Brendan Howlin says that Jo's death is an appalling tragedy for her family.
