Tributes Paid To Former Chairman of Clare County Council Sean Keating

Tributes are being paid to a former Chairman of Clare County Council, who will be laid to rest tomorrow.

Séan Keating, who was elected as Chair of the local authority in 1986 and retired from politics in 1991, passed away yesterday at the age of 91.

The Fianna Fail Councillor had an interest and involvement in community voluntary organizations, and in particular the IFA and Gaelic Games.

Séan, who’s survived by his wife Maura, children and family, will be laid to rest in Kilballyowen Cemetery, Cross, following Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Saturday at 11am.

Former Ennis Councillor and TD, James Breen says Seán Keating was hugely respected by the people of Clare.
