Tributes following sudden death of Seamus Mullane

Tributes have been paid to the Caretaker of Ennis Courthouse who died suddenly at the weekend.

Seamus Mullane from Kilnaboy died of natural causes after being out cycling with friends on Sunday afternoon.

He was 49.

The sudden death of Seamus Mullane – has caused shock and sadness in the Corofin in Kilnaboy areas, and at his workplace yesterday, Circuit Court judge, Judge Carroll Moran led tributes to the married father of four.
 
Judge Moran expressed "profound shock" at Seamus’s unexpected passing, outlining how the Kilnaboy man did an excellent job as caretaker looking after the court buildings and everyone who had any business there.

Josephine Tone of the Courts service said Seamus was a wonderful friend and colleague, while representing the Clare Law Association, solicitor, John Casey said he was privileged to call Seamus a friend and told the court that they were cycling together from Kilshanny to Ennistymon prior to his sudden death on Sunday.
 
On behalf of the Clare Bar Association, Barrister Michael Collins said those working at the courthouse were enriched by the courteous and friendly manner in which Seamus carried out his duties while Aisling Casey from the State solicitor’s office, described him "as a pure gentleman" who will be "sorely missed".

Seamus Mullane will be laid to rest in Kilnaboy tomorrow and Judge Moran has extended his sympathies and those of his colleagues to Seamus’s wife Bríd and their four  daughters.
