Travel Counsellor Advises Clare People Not To Fly Off The Handle Over Limerick Airport Misnomer

An Ennis travel counsellor believes Clare people shouldn’t fly off the handle over an online ad which mistakenly implied Shannon Airport is in Limerick.

Much online consternation has stemmed from a Google ad which advertised flights from Limerick to Heathrow in spite Limerick’s not having an airport, with many Clare residents reading it as yet another slight against this county.

In a statement released to Clare FM, Aer Lingus said it can “confirm the issue has since been resolved” and explained the mistake was made because the digital ad was “promoting the Limerick region”.
