Clare Haulier Warns Of Fallout Of Nearly A Decade From Rise In Fuel Prices

The Clare-based president of the Irish Road Haulage Association is warning the fallout from the hike in fuel prices will be felt for the next five to eight years.

Petrol prices have now breached the 2 euro a litre mark at the pumps here, after the EU leaders deal to block the imports of most Russian oil by the end of this year resulted in the price of crude oil hitting it’s highest price in two months.

The head of the International Energy Agency, Fatih Birol, has warned that Europe could even face fuel shortages this summer as demand increases.
