Clare Haulier Says Industry Reps Will Forcibly Seek Involvement In Talks On Future Of Holyhead

A Clare-based haulier insists industry representatives will forcibly seek a seat at the table during discussions on the future of Holyhead.

Ferry services to and from the Welsh port are back up and running today after six weeks, albeit with some delays, after being out of action since two berths were badly damaged during Storm Darragh in December.

It’s expected the reopening will allievate some of the pressure on hauliers on both sides of the Irish Sea who have been trying to work around the closure during one of the busiest times of the year for transport.

The Welsh Government has established a task force to make sure Holyhead Port meets the needs of both Ireland and Wales and Former President of the Irish Road Hauliage Association, Ennis haulier Eugene Drennan says it’s vital the needs of those at the coalface in the industry are heard.
